An incorporated municipality on Haida Gwaii, in the North Coast Regional District, British Columbia. The Village was formerly the Village of Queen Charlotte. The Village office is at 903A Oceanview Drive, open monday to friday, 10:00am – 4:30pm, closed 12:00 – 1:00.

Thirteen months have passed since the newest item on the Village's communications page. Whatever went out in that time — closures, tenders, water advisories, council decisions, the newer Village Voice issues — belongs in this space. This concept will not invent municipal notices, so the space stays visibly empty.
Agendas, minutes, bylaws and financial plans
The Village files its statutory record in a CivicWeb document portal. That portal is current — it was still receiving postings this week — so this concept sends you to it directly instead of building a second, staler copy of the same documents.
What the concept does change is the handoff. Every link into the portal says what it leads to and what format it is in, so nobody clicks a bare "More Info" and lands on an unexplained PDF.
The Village's CivicWeb portal URL goes here, pasted in verbatim. This concept does not guess web addresses. Once it is in, this block becomes a labelled link — 'Council agendas and minutes — CivicWeb document portal, opens in a new tab' — rather than an ambiguous button.
The Village's current site puts bylaws, minutes, agendas and financial plans behind PDF links only. A live build should pair each PDF with an HTML summary page so the content is readable on a phone, searchable, and usable with a screen reader.
The Village's words go in this space — not ours
The Village of Daajing Giids already publishes a territorial acknowledgement on its own site. This concept reserves the space for it, links to it from every page, and deliberately drafts none of it. The wording belongs to the Village and to the Haida Nation; it is not copy for a design studio to write.
In a live build this block would carry the Village's existing wording verbatim, with the Village deciding where it sits and how prominent it is.
About this concept
This is an unsolicited concept by JnP Studio, built from the Village's own published material. It exists because three things on the live site are costing residents time: a governance page that still reads "Coming soon", a news feed that stopped in June 2025, and an old domain that was never redirected.
